Irbis-140
Description
A civilian version of the Skrylov-designed Russian combat knife. Combat Irbis knives, developed using some technical solutions already present in the line of knivesSmershwere produced for the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defence in Kazan and were in the possession of, among others, the 33rd and 34th mountain infantry brigades. To obtain a certificate allowing the knife to be sold without permits, the guard and the pommel at the base of the blade were removed. Below is a scan of a visualization of the combat Irbis from Viktor Shunkow's book "Холодное оружие России".Military Irbis knives were produced from three steel grades: 65x13,50x14МФand70x16МФС.The civilian Irbis-140 from NOKSA's offer is made of U8 steel. The handle is rubber, with a hole at the end for a lanyard or wrist strap.
