Ghurk (AUS8)
Description
A heavy machete with a wooden handle. This is a smaller version of the Kukri knife, also produced by NOKS. In both cases, the inspiration for the designers were classic Nepalese kukris, which can serve as a heavy machete knife and a light tourist hatchet. The handle, widening towards the end, provides a secure grip, even in thick winter gloves. Of course, the Gurk can be not only a tool but also a dangerous weapon. Not without reason, kukris were and remain in the equipment of elite Nepalese rifle units in the British Army. Similar designs are used in some national contingents of NATO countries in Afghanistan. Previously, Gurks were sold with a rather poor nylon sheath. Since the last delivery, they have been in more decent leather sheaths.
