General 420HC
Description
A simple field blade from Redsteel - a Russian manufacturer of various types of gears, including knives. Made of 420HC steel - not very hard steel, its biggest advantage is corrosion resistance. First: corrosion resistance is quite a lot. And secondly, like any stainless steel, 420 is as good as its thermal hardening, with proper thermal work it can be pulled out at 56-57 HRC. Finally, the legendary pocket Swiss army knives were made of it. Redsteel makes gears, but these are branded gears. General is made in full tang scheme with walnut handle covers. High flat grind. Leather sheath or leather blade cover - there is no belt loop.
Still a word about Redsteel: well, it is not entirely clear to me whether it is a company or rather the name of the product line. The thing is that Redsteel products are created from beginning to end in Kizlyar Supreme production facilities.
