Galeon (stabilized karelyan birch handle)
Description
Damascus steel knife with sabre grind and wave shaped cutting edge. Handle made of stabilized karelyan birch – both practical (absorbs no water) and uniquely beautiful (no two identical wood grain patterns) material.
Contemporary Russian Damascus steel is obtained by forge-welding together several pieces of carbon steel with different carbon content. As there is no chromium added in the process the blades are not stainless and require proper care: should be wiped after use and, when back at home, oiled and kept in a dry place. The knife comes with a leather sheath.
These knives are handmade pieces, sizes of the same profile blades may slightly differ.
