Forester AUS10
Description
A new variant of the Forester bushcrafter made of stainless steel with a hollow grind from Kizlyar Supreme. The first Foresters were designed together with members of the Russian survival group "Forest-men" (Rus. Лесные). This variant of Forester was probably created without their participation. Not only the blade material has changed (sub-zero hardened AUS10 instead of the more expensive powder-coated N690) but also the geometry: the low hollow grind has been replaced with a rare convex grind. The rest remains unchanged: drop point profile with parallel spine and cutting edge, full tang scheme, tang covers made of light walnut (in the attached catalog photos, the tang covers and the sheath have a slightly darker shade) with fine ribs, fastened with screws. Leather sheath, slip-on, with the inscription "Kizlyar Supreme" embossed.
The Dagestan company Kizlyar Supreme (not to be confused with Kizlyar, also from Dagestan) is one of several Russian knife manufacturers widely known outside Russia. Kizlyar Supreme focuses on combining the old traditions of Caucasian knife manufacturers with the latest production technologies. Kizlyar Supreme products are the result of the work of craftsmen who have been making knives for generations, but today they have the most modern programmable machining centers and hardening furnaces.
