Fin (H12MF steel, black blade)
Description
A medium-sized knife from the renowned Dagestani company Kizlyar, with a leather sheath. The blade has a blackened (oxidized) finish and a full flat grind. The ribbed rubber handle features a lanyard hole at the end. At the base of the blade, one side is marked with "Финский" and the manufacturer's logo, while the other side shows "Кизляр Сделано в России" and the steel grade "Х12МФ". The knife comes with a Finnish-style, slide-in leather sheath. The knife is identical in size to its cheaper versions, but instead of AUS-8 (57-58 HRC), it uses H12MF steel (59-60 HRC), the Western equivalent of which is D2.
The Kizlyar company from Dagestan is one of several Russian knife manufacturers widely known outside of Russia. Kizlyar prides itself on combining the old traditions of Caucasian craftsmen specializing in blade making with new production technologies.
