Description
A pattern welded damascus knife with a birch bark handle. The bark rings are threaded onto the tang and squeezed between two pieces of wood, in this case, black hornbeam contrasting with the light birch. This handle construction, very light and practical, is often found in Finnish knives. Such a knife, especially if it is not additionally weighted with a metal guard or a metal pommel, is light and with a good blade operates without any effort. In the pommel there is a hole for a wrist loop.
