Ermine (gilded damascus, leather handle, duralumin fittings)
Description
A knife manufactured by the Zlatoust company, made of so called forged Damascus steel. Zlatoust Damascus steels are distinguished by their high quality and exceptional aesthetics. The handle is made of leather rings threaded onto the tang, finished with a bolster on one side and a duralumin pommel on the other. The pommel has a hole for attaching a lanyard or wrist loop. A beautiful blade with a gently waved edge line and a high hollow grind. One side of the blade features a drawing gilded using the galvanic method. On the other side, below the handle, there is a gilded inscription made with the same method: "Росоружие Златоуст" and the manufacturer's logo. The sheath is made of smooth leather with a silent fastener. The belt loop is embossed with the inscription "Росоружие Златоуст" and the logo.
The Zlatoust company is one of several Russian knife manufacturers widely known beyond Russia's borders. It prides itself on a centuries long tradition in the field of blade production. The gilding, in which the Ural based Zlatoust is the undisputed leader among Russian companies, presents itself exceptionally well on the dark Damascus blades.
