Compańero VG-10
Description
A new model from Kizlyar Supreme from the second half of 2024: a small knife with a narrow blade made of Japanese VG-10 stainless steel. The G-10 handle is not much wider than the blade and appears to be tailored for a small female hand. The thickness of the blade is not impressive - 2.6 mm, but the Compañero has an advantage that is invisible at first glance, providing it with a large reserve of durability. It is the quite rare geometry of the blade: the knife has a convex grind. Apart from the Compañero, the only knives in the store's offer with this grind are the Ural made of Sleipner steel and the Sturm made of AUS10Co. Full tang scheme - Kizlar Supreme does not accept any other. The VG-10 steel from the Japanese company Takefu Special Steel was cryogenically treated (liquid nitrogen hardening). Hardness 60 HRC. Leather sheath, with embossing.
The Dagestan company Kizlyar Supreme (not to be confused with Kizlyar, also from Dagestan) is one of several Russian knife manufacturers widely known outside Russia. Kizlyar Supreme focuses on combining the old traditions of Caucasian knife manufacturers with the latest production technologies. Kizlar Supreme products are the result of the work of craftsmen who have been making knives for generations, but today they have the most modern programmable machining centers and hardening furnaces.
