Chacal neck
Description
A smaller variant of the Chacal knife to be worn around the neck, from the Spanish company Cuchilleria Forester. Drop point blade with partial flat grind. Micarta tang scales. The end of the tang protrudes from the covers and has a hole for attaching a lanyard or wrist loop (there is some orange paracord in the box for this). On the blade there is an engraved J&V Adventure Knives emblem (a trade mark of the Cuchilleria Forester factory), the inscription "CHACAL NECK Handwork in Spain", the steel brand marking: MV-58 and a drawing of what is probably a jackal's head. Partial hollow grind, hardness 58 HRC. Kydex sheath, black. It can be hung around the neck with the handle down, the knife sits firmly in the sheath so that it will not fall out. It can also be sewn (laced) to items of equipment.
Forester is one of the few old Spanish manufacturers that has resisted pressure to move production to China. The knives are still not only designed but also manufactured in the Forester factory in Albacete, Spain.
