Caspian AUS8
Description
A practical field full tang knife with walnut handle scales. The blade features a Bowie profile, but a sensible one. By this, I mean that the clip point on the spine runs in a very gentle arc, almost a straight line, extending over 10 cm of the blade's length. The result is not a hook-like, weakened tip, but a strong point with increased penetration capability, while maintaining a distinctly curved belly on the cutting edge. It has a partial hollow grind and a comfortable handle, slightly contoured underneath for the fingers. As expected from Kizlyar Supreme, the Caspian is a full tang construction. The steel is AUS-8 with a hardness of 58 HRC. This knife can handle any task in the field. It comes with a black, Finnish-style leather sheath. The knife is a pleasure for any man to look at, but it will be especially appreciated in the USA, the homeland of Jim Bowie, where his duel with a Bowie knife against a sword still captures the imagination of boys.
The Dagestani company Kizlyar Supreme (not to be confused with Kizlyar, also from Dagestan) is one of several Russian knife manufacturers widely known beyond Russia's borders. Kizlyar Supreme is committed to combining the ancient traditions of Caucasian knife makers with the latest production technologies. Kizlyar Supreme products are the result of the handiwork of artisans who have been making knives for generations, only today they are equipped with state-of-the-art programmable machining centers and hardening furnaces.
