Buffalo (stabilized wood handle)
Description
A Damascus steel hunting knife with a handle made of stabilized wood. A selected piece of wood undergoes processing, the exact process of which is a secret of each manufacturer. As a result, the handle is given an unnatural color, emphasizing the unique grain pattern. Besides the aesthetic value, these handles have the advantage that they do not absorb water at all. The handle is of the "ogranka" type – such handles in cross-section are not round or ellipsoidal but close to a rectangle with bevelled corners along a straight line.The blade is quite wide, drop point type, with a partial concave grind. Melchior bolster. A manufacturer's monogram and inscription are engraved on the blade under the handle:"ОКСКИЕ НОЖИ ДАМАССКАЯ СТАЛЬ".
