Berkut
Description
A knife with a birch bark handle. The bark rings are strung onto the tang and squeezed between two pieces of wood, in this case black hornbeam. This handle construction, very light and practical, is often found in Finnish knives. Usually such knives are very light, however, the Berkut has a rather massive recurve blade, with a wave-shaped cutting edge. Concave grind, the grind line starts in the middle of the blade width.
