Berkut (stabilized karelyan birch handle, stone age finish)
Description
A beautiful Damascus knife from the Zhbanov forge. The Damascus blade features a luxurious "Stone Age" style finish and a so-called "bottom", a groove resembling a fuller running along the blade. The handle, finished with metal fittings on both sides, is made of stabilized Karelian birch, one of the more expensive types of stabilized wood. These handles undergo processing, the exact process of which is a secret of each manufacturer. As a result, the handles are given an unnatural color, emphasizing the unique grain pattern. In addition to their aesthetic value, these handles have the advantage of being completely water-resistant. Since no two handles are identical, photos of each knife are taken anew for each piece. The sheath is a Finnish-type, leather, push-in sheath.
