Bastardo (Sleipner)
Description
A classic stainless steel Bowie knife from Kizlyar Supreme. One of the largest and heaviest knives in this company's offer. It looks like it's been transported through time from the era of Jim Bowie, the legendary pioneer, trapper, and adventurer, from whose name the name of this blade profile comes. Although heavier than many machetes and with a grind ideal for chopping (partially flat), it is still a knife, a tool for precise cutting and slicing. Such knives are cult objects in the USA, less so in Europe, therefore Bastardo obviously refers in its appearance to the spirit of the Wild West. The name of the knife is inscribed between the horns of a bison, and the leather sheath would perfectly match a cowboy's outfit. Sleipner steel hardened in the range of 61-63 HRC. Handles made of black G10.
The Dagestani company Kizlyar Supreme (not to be confused with Kizlyar, also from Dagestan) is one of several Russian knife manufacturers known far beyond the borders of Russia. Kizlyar Supreme focuses on combining the old traditions of Caucasian knife makers with the latest production technologies. Kizlyar Supreme products are the result of the work of artisans who have been making knives for generations, but today they have access to the most modern programmable machining centers and hardening furnaces.
