Ataman (gilded pattern welded damascus, stabilized wood handle brown)
Description
A large hunting knife manufactured by Zlatoust, made of gilded forged damascus steel. Zlatoust damascus is distinguished by its high quality and exceptional aesthetics. The handle is made of stabilized Karelian birch – one of the more expensive types of stabilized wood. The tektolite pommel has a hole for attaching a lanyard or wrist strap. The massive blade, a trailing point type with an upwardly curved point like in Uzbek pchaks, is decorated on one side with a gold-plated galvanic drawing. On the other side, under the handle, the blade features a gold-plated inscription: "Росоружие Златоуст" and the manufacturer's logo, applied using the same method. Partially concave grind. The sheath is black leather, with the manufacturer's logo and the inscription Златоуст embossed on the back.
Zlatooust is one of several Russian knife manufacturers known widely outside of Russia. It boasts a several-hundred-year-old tradition in the production of edged weapons. The gold plating, in which Ural Zlatooust is the undisputed leader among Russian companies, looks exceptionally good on dark Damascus blades.
