Asalto
Description
Tactical knife developed for the military by the Spanish company Cudeman. It stands out due to its original blade profile: an unusual drop point where, near the end of the blade, the cutting edge slopes downwards, resulting in the blade being twice as wide at the tip as it is at the base. This is one of the few Cudeman models to feature Bohler N695 steel as the blade material. The blade thickness at the spine is astonishing - 5 mm. Among knives of this length, it is comparable only to the Russian Combat from Kizlyar Supreme. The Asalto features a crossguard with an extended guard on the cutting edge side. Low flat grind. The Cudeman company logo (an elephant's head) and the inscription "CUDEMAN Bohler N695 Made in Spain ASALTO" are visible on the blade. There is a serial number right under the handle, though I do not know why - such blades do not require a permit in Spain. Micarta tang scales, with the handle additionally weighted by a metal pommel featuring a lanyard hole or wrist-strap loop. The knife is sold with a black kydex sheath and a Tek-Lok type mount.
The Cudeman company is a renowned knife manufacturer from the Spanish "knife-making hub" of the Albacete region. A company with traditions, it is one of the few European manufacturers still resisting the pressure of Chinese competition.
