Akela
Description
A robust hunting knife made of D2 steel, produced by the Kizlyar company from Dagestan. The blade is made of D2 steel hardened to 58-60 HRC. It features a rare Eastern profile with a concave spine line and a distinctly curved belly, where the tip of the blade does not rise above the initial spine line. The entire spine, except for a 3 cm section at the base, is ground into a false edge. The handle is wooden, likely walnut, smooth, and weighted with decorative brass castings.
Below the handle, the blade is inscribed with "Акела D-2" and on the other side, "Кизляр сделано в России" along with the manufacturer's logo. The sheath is made of black leather, of a slip-in, Finnish type.
Kizlyar prides itself on combining the ancient traditions of Caucasian craftsmen specializing in blade manufacturing with new production technologies.
