Shark (pattern welded damascus)
Description
A hunting knife from the Marushyny brothers forge, with a somewhat predatory profile. Indeed, to the eye of a European, there is something piratical, Eastern, Asian about the "Shark". We are simply not used to blades with a large curvature, and if they also have tips raised above the back line, they bring to mind Krasiński's "haidamackie knives", with which the mob slaughtered the gentry. In fact, these are simply practical field knives with a long cutting line, which can more easily remove a hot cauldron from the fire than knives with a drop point profile. At the base of the blade, from the cutting edge side, the "Shark" has a blunted recess for the finger, allowing the knife to be gripped with two fingers on the blade. The handle is made of black hornbeam with a nickel silver fitting on the blade side and a loop for a lanyard or wrist strap on the head. In addition, a very nice smooth leather sheath, Finnish type, is included.
