NR-43 tactic olive
Description
Like most knife makers operating on the Russian market, during the war in Ukraine, the Siomin company began releasing tactical knife models aimed at customers mobilized for the army. Many of them independently source equipment items (where permissible) that are more comfortable than standard issue army boots, thermal underwear, or even the primitive compact hunting seats (known in Russian army slang as "subass"). This also applies to knives, which, while retaining full functionality, are generally lighter than what can be obtained from the supply depot. Siomin introduced practical changes to several models that had been in its offer for years in more expensive versions. These are the cult classic NKVD finka knives and NR-43 scout knives in civilian variants, meaning they do not require a permit in Russia. All have been fitted with new plastic sheaths with two loops, one wide for a belt and a second, narrower one at the bottom of the sheath, useful for lashing the knife. The sheath has a special clip that also allows the knife to be carried with the handle pointing down. All knives feature military-style double guards. The handles, made of black or olive Elastron, are fitted onto the tang. The blades are quite thin, made of 95x18 or U8 steel. In any material variant, the knife's weight does not exceed 240g. The 95x18 blades have a stonewash finish, making them non-reflective.
