Hunter
Description
A heavy field knife featuring a massive and highly aesthetic forged Damascus steel blade. It has a drop point profile with a high, slightly hollow grind. The knife was purchased in Russia but crafted in Uzbekistan by a bladesmith from Fergana. While the Damascus pattern is very beautiful, its hardness does not match Russian Damascus steel, measuring around 56-58 HRC, whereas in Russia, Damascus is typically hardened to 59-62 HRC. At the base of the blade, on the cutting edge side, there is a finger choil. The massive bolster functions as a half-guard and features decorations (mother-of-pearl with red and black ornamental patterns) typical of traditional pichak knife bolsters. The handle is made using a unique technique, where a pinecone is mounted onto the tang of the knife and then cast in resin. It comes with a leather sheath featuring a snap fastener. Compared to Russian sheaths, the leather is thinner.
