Damascus pchak knife
Description
A Damascus steel knife in the form of a traditional Uzbek pchak (pronounced: p-chah-k). For hundreds of years (the first pchaks appeared in the late 14th and early 15th centuries), such knives were made in eastern Uzbekistan in the region of the city of Chust and the Fergana Valley. Pchaks were not only an everyday item used in the kitchen and for hunting, but they were also a part of the traditional national attire. Their form has remained virtually unchanged to this day. The blade shape of the knife we offer belongs to the most popular variety of pchaks, called kajke, in which the tip of the knife is slightly curved upwards, above the line of the spine.
