Crusader (laminate, elforyn handle with scrimshaw decoration, mammoth tooth)
Description
A beautiful knife with a laminated blade, a handle with scrimshaw decoration and a mammoth tooth insert. The laminated blade has a core made of Bohler S290, a high-speed steel grade produced using powder metallurgy. The side layers are high-grade Russian 95x18 stainless steel. The handle is a story in itself, made of Elforyn, a high-quality composite material produced in Germany that is the world's best imitation of ivory. Elforyn is ideal for creating knife handles not only because it offers the aesthetics of ivory but also because it is resistant to damage, chemicals, and water. Nowadays, if you have a knife with an ivory handle, it can be easily confiscated (for example, during an airport baggage check) under the pretext of fighting to preserve endangered species. The bolster was made using the Japanese mokume gane technique, in which different metals are combined to create an ornamental pattern, in this specific case, copper and nickel. As befits a top-shelf knife, we also have a mammoth tooth insert here. However, what I like most about this knife is the scrimshaw technique (engraving on bone) drawing of a crusader knight, which corresponds with the drawing adorning the sheath (ISIS fighters would be foaming at the mouth over such a motif, I do not recommend taking such a knife to, for example, Syria). At the end of the handle, there is a mosaic pin with a hole for a lanyard or wrist strap.
