Burgut
Description
A massive hunting knife based on the Central Asian pchak. Typical for these knives is the blade-handle arrangement, where the back forms a single line with the handle, and the part of the blade, which is wider than the handle in these knives, ends at the base with a bolster projecting downwards. The Burguta blade profile is the same as in kajke-type pchaks: the tip of the knife is turned upwards, above the back line, which is straight along its entire length up to that point. A thrust with such a shape is supposed to resemble the claw of a bird of prey.burgut(which in one of the dialects of Central Asia is berkut, meaning falcon). People from Kizlyar say that the prototype of the Burguta was a knife made to order for the special forces of one of the Central Asian states. The blade is made of blackened AUS8 steel, hardened to 55-57 HRC, slightly lower than possible (AUS8 can easily be hardened to 57-59 HRC), probably so that it doesn't crumble when chopping. Partially concave grind. Wide tang, cast in black elastomer.
Under the handle on the blade the inscription "KIZLYARСделано в России" and a hologram. On the other side of the blade is the manufacturer's logo and the inscription"Витязь".The sheath is smooth, made of black leather, with a snap button closure.
Kizlyar prides itself on combining the old traditions of Caucasian craftsmen specializing in the production of edged weapons with new production technologies.
