Niolox is a German steel produced by the Lohmann steelworks. The name comes from the element niobium (Nb), of which Niolox contains 0.7%. It is characterized by its aggressive cutting performance, abrasion resistance, and good toughness, even when hardened to the 61-64 HRC range. It has a degree of corrosion resistance (8.5% chromium) but is not fully stainless and requires basic maintenance. Among premium steels, it stands out for its excellent price-to-performance ratio.
