Smooth zebu horn 3
Description
Zebu are Indian cows, a common species of domesticated horned cattle in India. Zebu farming in India is an example of economic activity where nothing is wasted. Zebu provide not only milk, meat, and hides. The bones are used for meal, and the hooves and horns are used by local artisans as a raw material for making a wide variety of items. As a result of heat treatment, zebu horn becomes ductile and plastic. The handle scales offered here are rectangular pieces of horn with unchamfered edges, carefully smoothed and polished on one side, and roughly leveled on the other but with irregularities of up to 1-2 mm. Therefore, they require additional smoothing and a flexible liner (spacer) between the knife's tang and the scale itself.
