Stabilized — meaning deeply saturated with resins in a vacuum process — and dyed Karelian birch. As a result of stabilization, the Karelian birch hardens, does not warp, and stops absorbing moisture. Due to the unique aesthetics of its grain, Karelian birch is one of the more expensive types of stabilized wood.
