pattern-welded damascus: Trapper full tang
Description
A blade made of so-called pattern-welded Damascus steel. These blades are crafted by repeatedly forge-welding a billet composed of steels with varying carbon content. This process creates blades with a characteristic pattern. They are not corrosion-resistant. This blade originates from Pakistan, made by a highly reputable artisan from Wazirabad who crafts knives using traditional techniques. The billet components are AISI 4340 and high-carbon 1095. As alloying elements, 4340 steel contains manganese, nickel, molybdenum, and chromium at a level of 0.70-0.90%, yet the blades remain prone to corrosion.
The blade is suitable for a heavy tracker knife. Forged, 55-58 HRC. Sharpened blade with a low hollow grind.
