Description
Pattern-welded damascus blade. These blades are created by repeatedly forge-welding a stack of steel layers with different carbon contents. This process produces blades with a characteristic pattern. They are not corrosion-resistant. This blade originates from Pakistan, crafted by a highly reputable artisan from Wazirabad who makes knives using traditional techniques. The stack consists of AISI 4340 and 1095 high-carbon steel. As an alloying element, 4340 steel contains 0.70-0.90% chromium (alongside manganese, nickel, and molybdenum), but the blades still remain prone to corrosion.
