pattern welded damascus: Khassar (with bolster)
Description
The blade is made of so-called pattern-welded Damascus steel. Such blades are created by repeatedly forge-welding a packet of steels with different carbon content. This process creates blades with a characteristic pattern. They are not corrosion-resistant. This blade comes from Lahore in Punjab (Pakistan). An interesting feature is that it has a Damascus bolster, which is not attached but is an integral part of the blade and tang. The blade has a full flat grind and is heavy – 271 g. Forged, sharpened, 58-61 HRC.
