pattern welded damascus: Flame (stone age)
Description
A blade of so-called welded damascus steel. Such blades are created by repeatedly welding together a package of steel with varying carbon content. This process creates blades with a characteristic pattern. These are not corrosion resistant. Forged, 59-62 HRC. The blade is divided into two parts by a horizontal groove, curved downwards near the handle. Above this line (this is the so-called dol) the surface of the blade resembles a hewn stone. This decorative finish of the blade, quite laborious, is called the "stone age" by Russian craftsmen.
