Description
A blade made of so called pattern welded damascus steel. Such blades are created by repeatedly forge welding a packet of steels with different carbon content. This process creates blades with a characteristic pattern. They are not corrosion resistant. This particular blade comes from the workshop of Leonid Vasiliev, a bladesmith from Pavlovo on the Oka River, who has won numerous awards at industry exhibitions. The billet composition (according to Russian nomenclature) is У10, ШХ15, ХВГ.
Forged, 60-62 HRC. The blade is in a raw state (unsharpened).
