mosaic damascus: Krot 1 full tang
Description
Mosaic blade, forged from a carbon steel packet (M76T, ШХ15, 50А) with nickel added. The unique pattern is obtained by forging the packet with nickel strips between the packet components. This is a very laborious technology requiring the highest smithing skills, allowing for blades with very high performance parameters (blade hardness on the edge 58-60 HRC) and completely exceptional aesthetic qualities.
This blade comes from a series made to a private order. The blade and tang are made from the same packet forged into a mosaic, which significantly increases the final product cost. Usually, the tang is welded from a piece of ordinary steel. This time, the client ordered the whole thing from a mosaic – the tang liners were to be made of transparent acrylic.
Blade in raw state (unsharpened). High concave grind.
