mosaic damascus: Assault
Description
A mosaic blade forged from a billet of carbon steels with added nickel (the entire billet is prone to corrosion, requiring proper care and protection against moisture). The unique pattern is achieved by forge-welding the billet with nickel strips layered between its components. This is a highly labor-intensive and demanding bladesmithing technique that requires the highest level of skill, producing blades with exceptional performance parameters (a blade hardness of 58-60 HRC at the cutting edge) and outstanding aesthetic values. The blade also stands out due to its unique coloration: the lower portion of the blade along the cutting edge has a distinct dark blue tint. This effect is achieved during the heat treatment process. Three reddish patches are visible on the blade, right at the boundary where the pattern of nickel threads meets the dark blue strip below. This is also a result of the final thermal treatment - it is neither copper nor rust.
he blade is in a raw state (unsharpened).
