This is a new publication from a leading Russian expert in the field of edged weapons. The album was published in 2023 with a very limited print run of 700 copies by a completely unknown publishing house from Saint Petersburg. The book is dedicated to a virtually unexplored topic in the history of the Russian army: fencing competitions and prize weapons for officers. The publication is illustrated with photographs of prize blades from the collections of Russian museums and private collections, with some items being published for the first time. For the first time, a complete list of the 278 recipients of the Imperial prizes is provided in chronological order, along with their biographies and achievements in shooting, horse racing, and more.

The book is a comprehensive scientific study, carried out at the intersection of two special historical disciplines: the study of arms and biography.
