The entire set is on a base that ensures good grip to the table.
How to use water stones:
Before use, soak the stones in water for about 15 minutes. The stone is properly soaked if, after pouring water on it, the water does not soak in immediately but remains on the surface of the stone.
Use the entire surface of the stone to avoid uneven wear, pouring water on the stone from time to time. The stone must be wet at all times.
After you finish sharpening, level the surface of the stone with a diamond plate or a stone with a much lower grit.
