В издании содержатся документы архива Военно-исторического музея артиллерии, инженерных войск и войск связи и Российского государственного исторического архива, отражающие историю российского холодного оружия XIX века, изображения образцов оружия нижних чинов и офицерского оружия, а также их описания в соответствии с каталогом ВИМАИВиВС. Авторский текст намеренно сведен к минимуму для объективного восприятия читателем представленных исторических материалов.

(This book was created based on the collection of edged weapons from the funds of the VIMAIViVS and a selection of documents about the introduction and production of the 1817 system weapons from domestic archives. The publication contains documents from the archive of the Military-Historical Museum of Artillery, Engineer and Signal Corps and the Russian State Historical Archive, reflecting the history of Russian edged weapons of the 19th century, images of weapons of lower ranks and officer's weapons, as well as their descriptions in accordance with the VIMAIViVS catalog. The author's text is intentionally kept to a minimum for an objective perception of the presented historical materials by the reader.

The book is intended for military historians, museum workers, collectors, and a wide range of readers interested in the history of Russian edged weapons.)

Richly illustrated with examples of edged weapons, from the late 18th century to 1824. It contains both examples of service issue weapons and richly decorated officer's weapons. It also shows all varieties of markings and dimensions of edged weapons from this era.

The publisher plans to cover the entire history of Russian edged weapons in stages, with the next volume planned to cover the years 1824-1834.
