Gurk
Description
A heavy machete with a wooden handle. This is a scaled-down variant of the Kukri knife, also produced by NOKS. In both cases, the designers were inspired by classic Nepalese kukris, which can serve as a heavy knife-machete and a light tourist axe. The handle, widening towards the end, ensures a secure grip, even with thick winter gloves. Of course, the Gurk can be not only a tool but also a formidable weapon. It is no coincidence that kukris were and remain standard equipment for elite Nepalese rifle regiments in the British army. Similar designs are used in some national contingents of NATO countries in Afghanistan. Previously, Gurks were sold with rather poor capron sheaths. As of the last delivery, they come with more decent leather sheaths.[1]
