Gentle people - Russian patch commemorating annexation of Crimea (subdued)
Description
A hook-and-loop (velcro) patch featuring a figure of a soldier with a cat. The patch refers to a famous 2014 photo, which captured a group of Russian soldiers in Russian uniforms (but without any unit-identifying insignia) with a cat sitting next to them. The soldiers did not identify themselves in any way, so journalists described them as "polite people" (in Russian "вежливые люди," and this text in Cyrillic is featured on the patch). The operation was considered a great success, and such patches became popular among Russian turbo-patriots. This is a field version, or to use military terminology, "subdued," intended for field uniforms. It is embroidered (not printed) on canvas.
Dimensions: 106 x 86 mm.
