FROG costumes are the new standard of battlefield clothing. The distinguishing feature is, firstly, the use of waterproof and at the same time low-flammability, slow-smoldering materials (FROG is an abbreviation of the English Fire Retardant Operational Gear, i.e. literally: flame-retardant tactical equipment) and, secondly, the characteristic composition scheme of the top of the costume. This scheme is the same as in battle shirts, where the central part, i.e. the body, which is covered with a tactical vest, often with a ballistic insert, is made of a lighter, airy, quick-drying and ideally resistant to pilling material. In camouflage suits, this part stands out from the rest in color, sometimes without camouflage, and is usually olive or khaki.
At the end of November 2024, a regulation of the Government of the Russian Federation prohibiting the export of camouflage clothing entered into force. The production of Barsa and other clothing companies goes to the needs of the army, but they are still unable to meet the needs of the force structures. Therefore, a large part of the uniforms are ordered from China. I managed to contact Fronter, a company that carries out such contracts. All Chinese hats, gloves, FROG costumes and gowns come from this company, which has been producing uniforms and equipment for the Chinese army for years and now also at the request of the Russian armed forces.
Size XXXL is the size according to the Chinese size chart, which, unlike the Barsa size chart (where the clothes were actually larger than the given size), is, in my opinion, overestimated by one size. So here are some key dimensions. To determine whether a given size will fit, it is best to lay out some similar clothes on the table that you feel comfortable in and compare them.
-
sleeve length (from the shoulder seam to the end of the sleeve): 66 cm
-
trousers waist (laid flat on the table): 54 cm
-
leg length (from the crotch seam to the end of the leg): 85 cm
