Description
A hatchet made of rare nowadays 9HF steel. This steel was mass-produced during the USSR times and enjoyed a good reputation. The Russian designation is9ХФ. The number 9 means that the steel contains 0.9 carbon. Its close Russian analogue is 9HS (Rus. 9ХС). The hatchet is built in a scheme resembling full tang knives with wooden handle plates on screws. The thickness at the butt is 6 mm, since the tang has the same thickness, there is a lot of metal in the Baron – without the cap it weighs 913 g.
