Axe Volk
Description
Bearded axe on an ash wood shaft. The name comes directly from the characteristic shape of the head - its lower part (the so-called beard) is clearly extended downwards, far below the line of the eye. This shape allows the user to grip the axe with their hand right below the blade, behind the "beard," enabling precise axe handling, e.g., when carving wood. In combat, the "beard" could be used to hook an opponent's shield or weapon. The blade is made of steel with chromium as an alloying element, but at a level that does not guarantee stainlessness, so it requires proper care. Differentially hardened: the cutting edge is 56-58 HRC, while the poll is 44-46 HRC. The shaft is made of ash wood. The axe is sold with a fastening leather blade cover featuring an embossed pattern and a large belt loop on the back.
