Axe Bond 2
Description
A forged axe with a long rosewood handle. The blade is made of steel with chromium as an alloying additive, but not at a level that guarantees stainless properties, so it requires maintenance. Zone-hardened: cutting edge 56-58 HRC, butt 44-46 HRC. A large portion of the surface, excluding the grind line and the butt, is left with a rough finish. The rosewood handle is wrapped with straps of black leather for an improved grip. Asian rosewood, used for items like expensive parquet floors due to its hardness, is an excellent, though somewhat more difficult to work with, material for a handle. The axe is sold with a fastened leather sheath featuring an embossed pattern and a large belt loop on the back.
