Description
A shoulder patch for the Belarusian air unit, the former 61st Fighter Regiment of the 39th Air Defense Division of the USSR, formed in 1951. The 39th Division consisted of three regiments, the 61st was based in Baranovichi in the Byelorussian SSR, where it is stationed to this day.
In the terminology of Belarusian air units, the words "regiment" (полк) and "air base" (авиационная база) are often used interchangeably. Therefore, this patch may also be described as the "61st Air Base".
