5th Separate Special Purpose Brigade
Description
A shoulder patch for the Belarusian 5th Separate Special Purpose Brigade (5th Spetsnaz Brigade), an elite unit of the armed forces of the Republic of Belarus. The unit originates directly from the 5th Spetsnaz Brigade of the GRU, formed in 1962 on the territory of the Byelorussian SSR. The unique status of the unit is evidenced by the fact that as early as 1989, by the sanction of the Minister of Defense, the 5th Spetsnaz Brigade was granted an individual emblem, a black fox, which was a unique occurrence in the Soviet Army.
