255th Separate Radio-Technical Regiment (Belarus)
Description
Shoulder patch of the Belarusian 255th Special Purpose Radio Engineering Regiment. The unit is based in Navahrudak (Новогрудок) and is part of the military intelligence. It conducts signals intelligence (SIGINT/радиоразведка) at the tactical level. It is a Spetsnaz unit, which is clearly suggested by the bat motif present on the shoulder insignia of military reconnaissance units in the armies of the former USSR countries (this once also applied to Ukraine, today, their special forces have adopted the owl, which preys on bats, as their symbol).
